Welcome to the Penn State alumni association’s Connecticut Valley chapter website!
We are a chapter that has been in existence since 1947 and now have over 130 dues paying members and about 1700 Penn State alumni who live in our geographic region that covers most of Connecticut and part of Massachusetts.
We are a chapter that has been recognized by Penn State as an alumni “chapter of distinction” five years in a row for various things that we do, from providing a bus service to students at holiday breaks to organizing PSU football homecoming tailgates for all of the New England alumni chapters (and for which we won an award for the tailgate with the “best spirit” in 2007) .
We are a chapter that gives back to the community, from sponsoring a freshman scholarship and annual freshman sendoff for incoming Penn Staters from our region to volunteering for things like college nights at local high schools and Habitat for Humanity.
We are a chapter whose members get together for PSU football TV parties, can buy and sell tickets through our PSU football ticket exchange, can purchase Connecticut PSU license plates and can socialize through other events that are described on this website.
Please take a look around this website to get a better feel for what we do. If you would like to become a member, the membership section has the form to fill out and send in. If you would like to be on my e-mail distribution list announcing upcoming chapter events, send me a note at gmalonepsu@yahoo.com with your e-mail address. If you are already a member and would like to be more involved or have suggestions for activities that you think the group would enjoy, contact me or any of the other chapter officers or board members. We look forward to hearing from you.
We are a chapter whose goal is to bring a little of Happy Valley to the Connecticut Valley. We are…Penn State.
