The Western Washington University Alumni Association encourages alumni and friends of the University to become well-informed about important issues facing the University and to communicate their support for WWU.

Current issue: the state budget

Last spring the Legislature wrote a budget that took as much as a third of state support from Western and public four-year universities. Now, as the Legislature faces another deficit of more than $3 billion, public four-year schools are again the target of budget cutters. Many at Western are deeply concerned about the impact of proposed devastating budget cuts on the University.

How you can help

• Contact your legislator and urge support for higher education and Western.
• Write letters to the editor to your local newspaper, supporting adequate funding for higher education and Western.
• Encourage other alumni to contact legislators too.
