Governor Spitzer Sees Stony Brook as "Flagship" University

New York State Governor Eliot Spitzer's January 9 State of the State address included the first recognition in many years that SUNY should establish “flagship campuses” as other prominent state institutions do. SBU Medical Center Researcher Awarded NASA Grant

Are space travel and cancer linked? Dr. Kanokporn Rithidech was awarded a four-year, $1.4 million grant to find out.  Co-investigator Carl Anderson, Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Biology at BNL and an internationally recognized geneticist believes “The proposed studies may prove important for developing advanced therapies for cancer.” More »
